The Peaceful Revolution is about to begin. We are going to take our country back, and soon we will be at the ballot boxes fighting the first battle in this Peaceful Revolution.
We are going to take our country back from the corporations and make it "for the people" once again.
As in any revolution, there are minor skirmishes leading up to the big battle. Last Tuesday in Connecticut was one of those skirmishes, there were others last Tuesday. There have been many others across the country, less publicized, but fought just as hard, and each one sending a tiny message, each win creating a tiny ripple in the pool of change.
Tonight the Welsh for Congress Campaign was again on the road. Two stops were on the schedule and both in the neighborhood so to speak. Which means they were both within thirty miles of home!
The first stop was a county party pork chop dinner fundraiser in Fayette County and it was well attended and a great event.
Then we went to the county fair in Franklin County, my home county.
I was accompanied by a couple of the very valuable members of the campaign as we walked around the midway, ventured into the various 4-H Barns to look at the livestock that the kids have worked so hard with for the past several months, the vegetables and crafts and on and on displayed with creativity, talent and love.
What's this got to do with politics?
I am Barry Welsh and I am the Indiana 6th District Democratic Party Congressional Candidate. I am opposite Mike Pence in the November 7th Election.
We have had a great campaign weekend. We were active in two of the biggest counties in the district yesterday and with other great Democratic Candidates from across the ticket in all cases. Today we had a successful fundraiser at the Wilbur Wright Birthplace Museum. A site symbolic of innovation, and that was the theme today, and the message in my address. We had people from all across the district, and even outside of the district, come in support. The band was great too!
But that is not what this writing is about. See Below for that.
I am Barry Welsh and I am The Democratic Congressional Candidate in Indiana's 6th District. We won our primary with 70% of the vote over 19 counties. My opponent is Mike Pence.
Sadly, We were not able to make it to Yearly Kos. I wanted to say thank you to people face to face that have helped this netroots campaign get to where it is. The campaign chief of staff was in an automobile accident and has been hospitalized all week, so I had many things to cover, and when it finally came down to only having a few hours in Vegas, we stayed home and went to a county party precinct caucus, and did some other grass roots work.
We are in this for the long haul. We are trying to prove that people powered politics can work again, as it did in our past.
I know that money is incredibly tight. But if you believe in people powered politics, please consider going to the website and contributing a twenty dollar bill. You may not be able to vote in this district, but when Pence acts, it impacts each of you! Help me stop him, please!
My name is Barry Welsh and I am the Democratic Party Congressional Candidate in Indiana's 6th District. I am running at Mike Pence, chair of the Republican Study Committee, and rising star in the Neo-Con movement.
This weekend was the Indiana State Party Convention. More on that below.
After the convention, Indy DFA and the Indiana Progressives PAC held a meet and greet/fundraiser for our campaign. We formally launched our campaign proudly at the Indiana Progressives Meetup several months ago, and the progressive movement here in Indiana has been super to our campaign. I have to say thank you, again, to all of those wonderful, passionate, concerned citizens. We might have raised enough for me to make a brief appearance at Yearly Kos!
I am Barry Welsh and I am running straight at Mr. Mike Pence, Indiana's 6th District Congressman.
The most important part of this writing is this;
Shortly after 6:30 PM on May 2nd, I was called and told we had been declared the winner of our primary and there would be six debates in the fall. He pick three and I pick three, and we pick right then and there. I was on the road between County Party Headquarters when I got this call, but I picked job loss, education, and healthcare. No surprises there.
He picked IRAN, Immigration, and balancing the budget.
He knows Iran will be the topic of the fall.
So I said let's start that debate now, and released this when a few words on IRAQ were requested:
Depleted Uranium weapons are Not used in Iraq according to Congressman Mike Pence IN06
I am Barry Welsh and I am running for the Congressional Seat currently held by Mike Pence, chair of The Republican Study Committee. I am the Democratic Party nominee, having won our primary by just over 69%.
Mr. Pence was in Anderson Indiana for a town hall meeting Saturday Morning.
Here is the Anderson Herald Bulletin story and I will include some comments from on line readers below the fold for those of you that don't read the article. There is no mention of Depleted Uranium in the article. It was not included in the reporting, but it was documented by those in attendance. That too, below the fold.
We cannot let the military use and the consequences of the use of DU be ignored or falsly dimissed as untrue.
I am Barry Welsh Indiana's 6th District Democratic Party Congressional Candidate.
I just became aware of "Opening Up the Netroots Page for Nominations" by DavidNYC asking for recommendations for netroots candidates. It was Front Paged at Big Orange, and I missed it. If anyone feels that our effort is worthy, please consider a recommendation if it is not too late.
